tragedy

The plan was that we were to swear-in as volunteers today and get posted at our sites next week, but this has changed and is postponed. We're going to Lusaka today due to the recent tragedy our group experienced this morning.

We were put up in the Hotel Edinburgh in Kitwe in preparation for our swearing-in ceremony. Early this morning, around 1:40AM, one of our best-loved trainees, Wyatt, fell out of a fourth-story window and died. This is so terrible there are no words to describe our sense of loss. Many of you probably read his blog that I linked to. He was one of a kind and will be dearly missed. We love you, Wyatt. We will carry on in the same spirit that you inspired in all of us.
